Tokyo Bay Network CATV
We are pleased to inform you that, as of today, we have started transmitting NHK World TV through our cable TV network in Chuo-ku and Kouto-ku in Tokyo. You will be able to watch English speaking TV programs at home. This is an emergency measure taken for people who do not speak Japanese to have access the updated TV news about Tohoku-Kanto Earthquake and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Problem.
The program will be seen at the following channels and the time zone:
Digital 112 CH, 1:00 to9:00, 17:00 to 21:00
Digital 113 CH, 1:00 to9:00, 13:00 to 17:00
CS 253 CH with a Set-Top-Box for 24 hours.
The service is available at all the households in the yellow part of the attached map of Chuo-ku, excluding few apartment buildings, which chose other media or antenna for Digital TV reception. It is also available in two thirds of the households in Kouto-ku. Please try Digital 12 or 13 for NHK World TV. If you cannot watch the program while living in these two Wards of Tokyo, please ask the manager of your apartment building if your house is connected to Tokyo Bay Network’s Cable TV. If you still need our assistance, you may send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Since we do not have a sufficient English speaking capacity, please allow us some time in responding your request. Telephone calls in English would not be acceptable.
If you live outside of our service area and wish to know whether this service is available at your home, please contact NHK directly at 03-5455-2444 after March 24.
I hope you will be relaxed with this new information service and enjoy your life in Japan.
