It is quite regretful to announce to you that NHK has informed us to stop providing NHK World TV program to the cable TV network as of 24 hr of Aril 8, 2011.

We thought it was a great accomplishment of NHK to provide a mechanism for the people living in Tokyo but not understanding Japanese to watch the real time visual news about Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Problem and the Tohoku-Kanto Earthquake in English. However, it is quite surprising to know that this good decision would last only for 18 days, and the right of knowing the updated news for those people who do not speak Japanese will be taken away in the midst of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Problem. At the moment, NHK has not changed its decision against our protest.

We will quit transmitting the NHK World TV to the majority of the people living in Chuo-ku and Koto-ku as of 24hr in Aril 8th 2011. I hope it will be restarted very soon.
